Next month Cody and I will be celebrating our 5 year wedding anniversary, though we've been together for 10 years. We have a beautiful daughter, Harper Sloan, and are patiently awaiting the arrival of our first son, Will Glenn. We are scheduled for my c-section on Tuesday June 30th. I have decided to quit work and stay at home with Harper and Will. I am very excited to take on this new adventure. I never in my life thought that I would be this happy! Cody has been the best husband, father and friend and I wouldn't make it one day without him. Thank you Cody!
So far 2009 has been a roller coaster. You all know Harper was diagnosed with Juvenile Arthritis in February. With the new medication she has been doing fantastic. She started walking right before her 2nd birthday and has been so strong throughout this whole process. I know this will only make all of us stronger. It's weird how you start to look at things differently when you have children. And no matter what it takes or what it costs you will do ANYTHING to make things better. Although we still do not have a clear diagnosis on what type of arthritis she has, we are staying positive and hoping for the best. We are seeing the best doctors and I have full trust in them!
One the pregnancy side of things, it has gone very well. Other than the fact my belly is stretched to its limits and that I can't sleep, walk or get comfortable, I don't have gestational diabetes like I did with Harper and I have had little morning sickness. So that is a good thing. The doctor did tell me today that Will is most likely going to be bigger than Harper. In case you forgot, Harper was 9lbs 9oz. So yeah me! I cook up big babies she said! We are ready for a little boy and I think Harper is too. She calls him Bubba. I can't wait for her to meet him. She is going to be such a great big sister. The room is ready and I think I am ready too.
I have all of next week off to relax. Okay so I'm not very good at doing that, I can always find something for me to be doing. I have a hair appointment, I have to get my nails done. I am meeting a very good friend of mine that I haven't seen since 7th grade for lunch. I have to clean the house and get the baby announcements finished. Wash the car, get the lawn looking good. Oh and meet Cody for lunch one day. And if your wondering what I am going to do with Harper, she is staying with my parents in Corpus for two weeks. They stole her last Sunday and will bring her back right before I deliver Will. So I have time to get my stuff done. Thanks Mom and Dad. I do miss her a lot but it's nice being able to spend some time with Cody. She has been spending her time getting a tan at the beach. Lucky her!
Well other than that things are fixing to get crazy around here. With the help and support from our families and friends we are going to be just fine. We will keep you all posted!
