Santa! Santa! Santa!

We took Harper and Will to see the Christmas lights and Santa and boy was it so much fun to see Harper get excited about it! When you ask her what Santa is going to bring her for Christmas she says, in her loud excited voice, "TOYS!!!" She did so good sitting on his lap, Will just looked like he was hanging out!

Thanksgiving!

It's been a while since I've posted, sorry! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. We stayed in town with Cody's family. It was good to see all of the family all together.

Boo at the Zoo

Harper had so much fun at Boo at the Zoo! She got lots of candy and got to see the elephants paint! The weather was beautiful and Cody and I had fun just watching her! Uncle Zane got to come along too, she loved that! Will just hung out in the stroller and in Zane's arms. I think he had fun too! If you want to see some more pictures of Harper and Will check out my Shook Photo blog or my website! (You can find the link on the left side of my blog)! Enjoy!

Trip to Corpus

Harper, Will and I spend the week in Corpus with my parents, oh and I also had my TAMUCC alumni softball game! We went to the beach and attempted to take pictures (did not work out well, thanks wind)! Cody flew in Friday for the game on Saturday and Kelly, Andy and Drew came in Saturday as well.

Some of my teammates came in for the game. Kesty flew in from California on Thursday and stayed with us, Katie flew in from Arizona on Friday and Melanie and Shelly came in from Austin for the game. It was really good to see them again! We had 14 alumni for the game and it started out really good. If we would have only quit in the first inning we would have won!!!! Final score after 5 innings - Alumni 3, TAMUCC 7. Maybe next year! Go Islanders!

Oh and check out the Shook Photo blog to see the pictures of Harper at the beach!

Mansfield Pecan Festival

Saturday we headed out to the Pecan Festival in Mansfield. It would have been a lot more fun if it weren't 110 degrees outside!!!!! We stopped at Old Nanny's house to pick her up and then walked over to the festival. Harper had fun walking around. Daddy got her a balloon and water and she was good to go. Will enjoyed the ride and never made a sound. It was nice getting out of the house and not having to spend any money (besides water). :)

Sen Kennedy - We would like to thank you!

I usually don't get into the politic or media frenzy but I would like to say "Thank You" to Sen Kennedy. He has been a major supporter and advocate in the Arthritis Prevention Control and Cure Act. This act proposes to strengthen arthritis public health initiatives, which would ensure that more people are diagnosed early and avoid pain and permanent disability. While there are several new medicines available to treat the symptoms of arthritis, there is no cure. Our prayers go out to his family and friends.

"Today, the Arthritis Foundation and the 46 million adults and the 300,000 children affected by arthritis have lost a great friend," said John H. Klippel, M.D., president and CEO of the Arthritis Foundation. "Sen. Kennedy was an advocate and a true champion for people and children with arthritis. Through his leadership and support of the Arthritis Prevention Control and Cure Act, he fought for the needs of people with arthritis, the nation's most common cause of disability. We extend our heartfelt sympathy to Sen. Kennedy's family at this time."

The Arthritis Foundation pays tribute to Senator Kennedy, who was an advocate and champion for people with arthritis.

In Sen. Kennedy's distinguished memory and honor the Arthritis Foundation has created the Edward M. Kennedy Advocacy Scholarship to recognize and foster advocacy and public service to those impacted with arthritis. The Edward M. Kennedy Advocacy Scholarship will be awarded each year to an individual who has demonstrated public service in their local community and will enable them to attend the Arthritis Foundation Advocacy and Kid's Summit held each year in March in Washington, DC.

Again, thanks for all your support, you will be missed! - The Shook's

Weekend River Trip

This past weekend we went to the Comal River with the Sell family. As to our surprise, Aunt Susie, Uncle Larry, Cindy, Matt, Melissa, Brian, Lucy and Lilly meet us down there. We all had a blast. The water was cold but not cold enough to keep us out. Harper enjoyed playing with the rocks and running around the house with Lexi, Drew and Lilly. Will spent his time sleeping as usual. Next year he will be able to get in the water.
