Update on Harper

We had another doctor appointment at Scottish Rite this afternoon. They finally diagnosed her with Psoriatic Arthritis. She is doing well on the medication so they have decided to up the dosage. There is no telling whether or not she will have this the rest of her life but the doctors are saying that most cases of Psoriatic Arthritis are more likely to be on medication for a long time.

We have also decided to do knee injections. So we go back on May 5th and do two knee injections, one in her right knee and one in her left knee. She will be asleep during this procedure. She is really starting to get the walking down but the injections will help to reduce inflammation, which can alleviate pain without causing side effects. Both the doctors and Cody and I are in favor of doing this. She will not be able to move around for about 24 hours afterwards but we should see big improvements within 48 to 72 hours. Thats exciting!

Along with some stretches the Physical Therapist recommends, we are going to look into putting her into some sort of water therapy.

In all we are so thankful that the medication is working and that Harper is starting to move around a lot more. We will be doing the Walk for Arthritis (Kids get Arthritis too) on Saturday May 2 in Arlington. If anyone is interested in joining us let me know! Here is Harper's link.

A good friend of mine that I played softball with on my travel team and at TAMUCC came in for the weekend to take the kids to their first softball game. TAMUCC vs UTA. Harper and Ethan had a great time and played very well together.

Harper looks great, she's already losing baby fat. Her walking around at easter, I wish I would have gone so I could have seen that.
